The prologue
This is man has been governing the country, @BBCPolitics ?
— THE AGENT APSLEY (@THEAGENTAPSLEY) April 8, 2016
The audio where he says his wife and he sold the shares is a callow schoolboy !
The lesson
The words 'vested interests' are rarely used in their true sense : shares are vested in an owner, even if he is not their beneficial owner.
— THE AGENT APSLEY (@THEAGENTAPSLEY) April 8, 2016
Ownership 'vests' in both legal and beneficial owners : the former shows as shareholder at Companies Ho. / the latter has an absolute right.

The interest only becomes *vested* when the specified contingency is satisfied, e.g. when xyz happens, which could be when A reaches 18 ->
— THE AGENT APSLEY (@THEAGENTAPSLEY) April 8, 2016
-> Essentially, if the terms of the trust say so, and B then becomes absolutely entitled. Or does that only happen when C reaches 18... ?

The postlude
Well said George! George? Hello...George? pic.twitter.com/2ruV0cBmYW

Ah, but he meant - as ever - tax *evasion*, not the blurred distinction of tax avoidance..., @HandsomeMollyUK ? :) https://t.co/WkZtwTCJEc

Desserts
3. It was all OK, and squeaky clean - so why sell the shares ?
— THE AGENT APSLEY (@THEAGENTAPSLEY) April 8, 2016
4. And forget the shares - what dividends, or other benefits, were there ?
