In case you missed it earlier, I have ranked all of the Bond movies from worst to best. (No Skyfall spoilers.) wp.me/pU0l8-Xr

Going to http://movieevangelist.wordpress.com/2012/10/29/the-23-best-james-bond-films-of-all-time/#comment-1479, I have added :
From memory, I know that I have seen Goldfinger / Dr No / Thunderball / Diamonds are Forever / The Man with the Golden Gun / Goldeneye / Die another Day / You only live Twice / Live and let Die / Quantum of Solace / Casino Royale, and one other, and I shall seek, before bedtime, to put them in order...
On reflection, can't place Thunderball / The Man with the Golden Gun as I recall them too poorly
Here, in order of my ranking, My ranking / The Evangelist's ranking out of 23 / That ranking translated to these 9
1 / 11 / 5 Live and let Die
2 / 19 / 8 Diamonds are Forever
3 / 8 / 4 You only live Twice
4 / 2 / 1 Casino Royale
5 / 7 / 3 Goldeneye
6 / 14 / 7 Quantum of Solace
7 / 22 / 9 Die another Day
8 / 4 / 2 Goldfinger
9 / 12 / 6 Dr No
On a first glance, biggest disparities (top of one ranking, bottom of another) are Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever, and closest congruence with Quantum of Solace, You only live Twice, Die another Day, and Goldeneye. So we agree more than we disagree...?

Given that you have a Roger Moore film top, I can understand the love for Diamonds Are Forever. I'd be intrigued to hear more about what doesn't appeal about the early Sean Connery Bonds, especially as the two at the bottom of the list straddle my favourite chronologically.
To be honest, there's something a bit invidious about a list of best to (seemingly) worst, when, maybe, at best one's expressing a preference for seeing again films some of which were seen 35 years ago and not since - how compare them with the Craig films, necessarily viewed within the last few years?
Something ends up being last, even if one's seen every film within the last six months, and the Moore films end up top because I was at the age when it was exciting to read in a magazine at the barber's about the stunts in the new film and how they were done, etc., and Moore had this terribly amusing air that nothing had happened when he's been chased in a speedboat all over The Everglades and the dust has settled.
In reality, there's nothing at all wrong with Goldfinger - that agonizing scene with the circular-saw - but the films that come after are less true to the books, there's more action, and there's all the gadgetry (though Connery has some, of course).
And ask me to rank the films another day, when I've forgotten whatever rationale I had (as against films seen just in September, at Cambridge Film Festival, where I know what I thought and why, and have largely managed reviews), and I might say something quite different...
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is important and all. But think about
if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, "pop"!
Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this site could definitely be
one of the most beneficial in its niche. Great blog!
